The Chickamauga Reservoir is a popular place for fishing, swimming and boating. The reservoir is formed by the Chicakamauga Dam on Chickamauga Creek. The reservoir is named for a tribe of Native Americans that broke away from the Cherokee Nation in the 1700's.
The Big Ridge Small Wild Area consists of 200 acres of upland forest above the north shore of the lake. There is a 1.3 mile hiking loop leading through the forest.
